Some people have poor or decreased vision that impairs their ability to function as easily as he or she would like. It is possible that this decrease may not be improved by surgical, pharmacological or conventional spectacles or contact lenses.

In these cases vision can generally be enhanced using specialised optical and non optical systems which are prescribed during a Low Vision evaluation.

We operate the Low Vision Aid Scheme of the Dorset Health Authority and can provide a number of optical devices for people at no cost if they are residents of Dorset. They are not that expensive and we can easily supply non-residents. However each case needs to be assessed individually.
